Good evening Christine, I have just seen your name in the CVC June edition and I hope you don’t mind me asking you for a little help.

My Grandfather drove for Travis and Arnold for over thirty years retiring at age 65 in 1964. I spent many happy hours with him during school holidays etc. but the only photo I have of his lorry is the one I have attached parked outside his home in Chandlers Ford in the mid 1950’s.

I cannot identify the number plate but will certainly be V V and the lorry is almost certainly a Bedford TJ.

Travis Perkins, as they are now known, only have pictures going back to the 1960’s when they changed their colour to yellow, whereas the one in the picture would have been turquoise.

If you can throw any light on this I would be most grateful.

Kind regards, Bryan
